When USB 3.0 (xhci) is disabled in BIOS it also works, unless USB 2.0 has been shut down by Windows, then nothing works. Windows is able to shut down the USB 2.0 part and afterwards only 3.0 is used. The device offers USB 2.0 and 3.0 in parallel and Linux tries to access both interfaces in parallel, which fails. It then works (at slower speed), unless windows has been booted. It afterwards works until the computer is completely shut down (with power disconnect).Ģ. boot Windows 7 (just until login screen, reboot to Linux from there). I found two workarounds to make the device work:ġ. I'm currently using kernel 4.0.86_64, but the problem exists since I bought it last year. When I insert an SD card (have not tried any of the other supported card types), the two LEDs on the front panel just start to blink and I can't mount the file system.

It is marketed as "Icy Box IB-865-B" and it identifies as "05e3:0732 Genesys Logic, Inc. I have an internal USB 3.0 card reader in my desktop PC.
